Library Technicians & Assistants $500 Bursary

Are you a library technician, assistant or other library staff living outside the St. John’s area and would like to be able to attend the upcoming Library Technicians and Assistants Interest Group (LTAIG) conference? Good news: there is funding available!

The NLLA is pleased to offer library technicians, assistants, and other library staff in the province the opportunity to apply for funding to attend a conference or take advantage of other professional development opportunities. Technicians & Assistants Bursary Still Available!

NLLA offers library technicians, assistants, and other library staff in the province the opportunity to apply for funding to attend a conference or take advantage of other professional development opportunities. Funds are awarded on an as needed basis of up to $500 per year.

So far this year we have only awarded a portion of the bursary. The extended deadline to submit an application is September 2, 2014.

2014 LTAIG Bursary Winners

The LTAIG Bursary Selection Committee is pleased to announce the first recipients of the NLLA LTAIG Bursary. David Mercer and Joanne Costello have been selected to receive a portion of the LTAIG Bursary to participate in an archival course.

Because the bursary has not been fully utilized we will be happy to accept more applications this summer for the deadline on August 1, 2014. Please feel free to contact  Julia Mayo  with any inquiries about this bursary that you may have.

Apply for Library Technicians and Assistants Bursary

The application deadline for the Spring 2014 Library Technicians and Assistants Bursary is coming up on March 1, 2014.

The bursary is to be awarded to library techs, assistants or other library staff in the province to attend a conference or take advantage of other professional development opportunities. Funds will be awarded on an as needed basis of up to $500 per year, with the award possibly going to more than one applicant (to a maximum of $500).

Announcing the LTAIG Bursary

The NLLA is pleased to offer library technicians, assistants and other staff the opportunity to apply for funding to attend a conference or take advantage of professional development. Funds will be awarded on an as needed basis up to $500 per year. Applications will be considered at two points in the year, summer and spring. The deadline for the inaugural award will be August 31, 2013.

Library Technician and Assistants Bursary Committee: This would be a short-term commitment to assist us with creating the structure and guidelines for this new and exciting initiative. Please contact Karen Darby, Library Technician and Assistant Representative.

Freedom to Read Week Committee: Help us recognize Freedom to Read Week in Newfoundland (February 26th-March 3rd, 2012). Last year, the committee did a fabulous job of organizing a photo contest and this year we are open to any creative ideas or suggestion you may have! Please contact Kathryn Rose.
